Forensic Friday 44: Steam Page Makes a Landing

It has finally arrived. The coveted steam page in all its glory is open to the masses! We’ve already written a lot about what we’ve been doing towards the steam page, but now you can check it out for yourself and obviously wishlist it…right? Add onto the fact that we’re back at full developer capacity after all the holiday shenanigans (see directly below), and the future is looking bright!

Steam Page up and running #

Again, not to keep flogging a dead horse, but our steam page has now been approved which you can find here. This will mark the start of our push towards more marketing and expanding the server, with more content and lore heavy material on the way, so hopefully we’ll see some good results in the coming months. In the meantime, have a look through and tell your family, friends, pets and enemies. Meanwhile, everything is totally under control as seen by our feedback report!

Anomaly Poll Winner #

Speaking of Lore Heavy material, the winner for the anomaly poll this week is S-0121 - “Void Brain Disorder”.

As a reminder, “‘Void Brain Disorder’ is a disorder whereby instead of brain there is void. Void mechanisms and brain hyperobjects are the hallmarks of this disease. Surface plane encoding and localised event horizon lead to a bad singularity.” This is the text written on a doctors note. Alongside the doctor’s note is a box of pills assumed to be a temporary treatment to this disorder. When people come into proximity to the note, they will start to feel the effects of void brain disorder, which causes severe degregation in brain function, slowly reducing mental capacity until people become horrifically unitelligent.

We’ll be busy at work writing this up in the coming week, so keep your eyes peeled on our discord server in 2 Mondays time!

Game Development Updates #

Containment Procedures still ongoing #

After a long weeks holiday, work has resumed on containment procedures, but it’s still very much a work in progress. The good news is that the Formal Grammar idea mentioned in FF42 has worked an absolute treat, and is coming along very nicely. During the tailend of this week, we’ve been working towards creating a parser that can translate every option you could possibly make to do something within the game. Maybe a bit of weekend overtime can help get this up to speed but we’ll see by the next blog!

Painting System #

We also spent the week creating a painting system for tiles. Not exactly at the top of the priority list for things to do, but this week, in the shadow of last weeks many hurdles, was a small break in some ways. So here’s a neat picture showing UI…

What’s next! #

Welcome to What’s next, the new segement in Forensic Friday, where we dicuss… WHAT’s NEXT! So what is next in containcorp’s development. News flash, gunplay has been shelved. With it almost being done, we can’t fit the rest of the features into the roadmap schedule currently. But HEY HO! What’s another weekend of catch up work!

So news flash over, time to the real stuff… Drum roll please… Facility Raids! That’s next!

This has been What’s next! Tune in next week, for another round of WHAT’s NEXT!

Case Closed #

So we can now add the steam page to our ever growing online presence, along with this blog page, our wiki and our game’s website! It’s all slowly coming together and we’re still just getting started! Who knows… at this rate we may be able to actually have active social media accounts!

As always, thank you for taking the time to read our ramblings :)

Case Closed.
